ReplyDeletedid you run the gel with pcr products in the wells, or did you mix the pcr products in the agar before it set? :)
ReplyDeleteHow old is the buffer you stored your gel in? I'm betting your EtBr is lighting up bacterial contamination.
ReplyDeleteThat usually means you didn't let the agar melt properly before you poured it out to set. The speckles are the bits of unmelted agar powder. Why, yes, I have done that myself a few times. =)
